"OH WATERS, TEEM WITH MEDICINE TO KEEP MY BODY SAFE FROM HARM, SO THAT I MAY LONG SEE THE SUN." - Rig Veda
O Blog chama-se "Fuck you Penguin", "Where I tell cute animals whats what."
Vieram-me lagrimas aos olhos.
"You little fucker, you think you can just fucking waltz into our lives like nothing ever happened, but I know your kind, Squirrel. I turn my back for one second and you are causing power outages and breaking the noses of Finnish opera singers. So just go back to being hunched over nibbling on an acorn in my backyard, because you can stand there waiting for an invitation to my Christmas party all you want, IT'S NOT GOING TO COME. You may have found my weakness for animals that stand on two legs, but I'm smarter than you, Squirrel. And I will defeat you."
Sempre tive curiosidade em saber a opinião dele acerca deste assunto. Here it is.
Nonetheless, I think there is some handwaving in the book. I think Ray would admit, he does not know what is going to happen in ten, twenty, thirty, forty years. He has a belief in the law of accelerating returns. He calls it a law and he wants it to be analogous to mathematical law and laws of thermodynamics. The difference is that in physics you use statistical mechanics and you derive the laws of thermodynamics. The laws of thermodynamics are rigorously derivable from statistics, whereas Ray’s “law” is not so much of a law as it is a tendency or a trend. He has certainly marshaled a great deal of evidence to suggest that it will continue. I am not saying it is wrong, you understand. I am just saying it does not have the same status as a scientific law.
